10 MOISTURIZING TIP FOR A HEALTHY LOOKING SKIN

When moisturizing the skin there are various thing to look put for; Starting from the nature of moisturisers to the method of application and so on.

so here on this blog post I’ll be sharing with you 10 tips on moisturising the skin to produce a better looking skin

1. APPLY MPISTURIZER WHEN YOUR SKIN IS STILL A LITTLE DAMP AFTER YOUR SHOWER PR BATH

2. ALWAYS PERFORM A PATCH TEST BEFORE TRYING OUT A NEW MOISTURIZER

3. CHECK OUT FOR THE INGREDIENTS USED YO MAKE UP THE MOISTIRIZING PRODUCT

4. MOISTURIZE AT LEAST TWICE A DAY;

5. BUY MOISTURIZERS FROM A REPUTABLE BRAND YOU TRUST

6. AVOID EXTRA HOT WATER FOR SHOWERS WHEN WASHING YOUR FACE

7. ADD A PROTECTIVE FACIAL SERUM UNDER YOUR MOISTURISERS FOR ADDED BENEFITS

8. STAY HYDRATED BY DRINKING EIGHT 8 OUNCE GLASSES OF WATER A DAY

9. RUB IT GENTLY

Do not apply moisturises to dry skin!

That’s one mistake most of us make

Moisturisers are more effective when applied on a damp skin because a damp skin best absorb the moisture and locks it in for a long time.

2. ALWAYS PERFORM A PATCH TEST BEFORE TRYING OUT A NEW MOISTURISER;

While changing moisturisers OT trying out a new product you would want to perform a patch test first before applying it all over your face.

Here’s how to perform a patch test;

Take a little amount of the new product you want to try and apply it in a part of your neck for a week to make sure you like how the product feels or smells and you are comfortable with it

Look out to make sure the new product doesn’t lead to clogged pores or allergic reactions.

3. CHECK OUT FOR THE INGREDIENTS USED TO MAKE UP THE MOISTURIZING PRODUCT;

If you have a sensitive skin, you would have to use moisturisers with soothing ingredients

Try as much as possible to avoid ingredients such as parabens, dyes and fragrance

Also look out for potentially imitating ingredients like AHA’s, BHA’s, Retinol, Formaldehyde, phtalates or botanical extracts.

Make sure you are okay with all the ingredients listed on the new product before trying it out.

Look for Moisturizers that contains at least some of the following

Glycerin

Aquaporins

Plant butters

Plant oils

Salicyclic acid,

Antioxidants

Ceramides

Hyalvronic acid

Urea

Sunscreen etc

4. MOISTURIZE AT LEAST TWICE A DAY;

It Is advisable to moisturize first thing after shower in the morning and in the night before going to bed.

Though this pattern can he changed during winter as the skin tends to feel Kore dry during wknter;

So moisturising should be done whenever the skin feels dry

5. BUY MOISTURIZERS FROM A REPUTABLE BRAND YOU TRUST

Don’t just pick on any moisturizer you see in the market. Always buy moisturisers from reputable brands and

Bathing the skin with very hot water leaves ghetto Skin feeling dry after shower.

So this should be prevented as far as possible

7. ADD A PROTECTIVE FACIAL SERUM UNDER YOUR MOISTURISERS FOR ADDED BENEFITS

8. STAY HYDRATED BY DRINKING EIGHT 8 OUNCE GLASSES OF WATER A DAY

Always drink at least 2 liters of water daily

9. RUB IT IN GENTLY;

moisturisers should be gently rubbed in and massaged into the skin.

Too much rubbing can weaken the skin’s barrier function and cause inflammation

So rub it gently!

10. MOISTURIZE BEFORE GOING TO BED;

Try as much as possible to moisturize the skin before going to bed to leave it looking smooth, soft and young.
